Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones AudioRecorder.Net and our advertising partners use, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include browser local storage, IndexedDB, device identifiers and tracking pixels. They can be "first-party", set by the site you are visiting, or "third-party", set by another company such as an advertising partner.

Strictly necessary storage

Some storage is essential for the tools to work and is set by us. It does not track you across other sites.

  • IndexedDB: keeps your saved recordings and their details in your browser so they remain available when you return. This data stays on your device.
  • Local storage: remembers your light or dark theme preference.

Because this storage is needed to provide the service you asked for, it does not require consent where the law allows that exemption. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser.

Advertising and measurement cookies

We show ads to keep the tools free, including ads from Google AdSense. Advertising partners may set or read cookies and similar identifiers on your device to:

  • Show ads, and choose ads that are more relevant to you where personalization is allowed.
  • Limit how often you see the same ad.
  • Measure how ads perform and report to advertisers and to us.
  • Detect and prevent invalid traffic, fraud and abuse.

Google may use cookies such as the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Names and lifetimes of advertising cookies are set by the provider and can change, so we do not list every one here. You can read how Google uses cookies at How Google uses cookies and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

How to control and delete cookies

  • Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data. Instructions are in your browser help pages. Blocking all cookies may stop some features from working.
  • Google Ad Settings: turn off personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com.
  • Industry opt-outs: visit aboutads.info, optout.networkadvertising.org or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.com.
  • Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track: some browsers send these signals. Where required by law, we and our partners honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out.
  • Mobile devices: use the advertising ID controls in your device settings to reset or limit ad tracking.

Remember that clearing site data in your browser also deletes any recordings saved in your browser by the tools. Download anything you want to keep first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our tools or our advertising partners change. The "Last updated" date shows when it was last revised.
